ADAPATION. Air compressor for Tesla S 2013-16 models. It fits pre-facelift vehicles, manufactured until April 2016. The Tesla Parts Catalog no. for this item is: 6006403-00-A.
WARRANTY. There is a 2-year warranty on our compressors when installation is done by authorized workshops. If you install yourself, it will be a matter of assessment. Careless installation can damage both the compressor and connected parts. However, the warranty still applies to DIY, if you follow the points below.
- Do not replace only the compressor if you have leaks elsewhere in the system. This causes the compressor to run too much (should not go beyond 30s intervals). You risk the engine running hot, and the rotor or ball bearing breaking again after a short time.
- Make sure you do not have moisture in the valve block. This prevents flow and gives incorrect start/stop signals to the compressor via the ecu/relay.
- Understand how to fill the tank with air without Tesla's toolbox. When you loosen the compressor on S 2013-16 models, the tank is emptied of air. Use an external compressor to fill the tank again until the pressure reaches approx. 5-6 bar. Next, try to get the car's compressor to take over, for further filling and adjustment. The air compressor must not run for more than 30 seconds before pausing, so here it is stop-go that counts.
- Always change the relay when you replace the compressor. You can order this along below (original Durakool). If you do not get up the option, we do not have in stock. The relay must then be purchased directly from Tesla (part number 1009577-00-A, price approx. NOK 240).
