IN GENERAL

In the aftermarket, our air suspensions are some of the best. We who are behind the company all drive Tesla (S and X), and have as needed switched to Vigor® air struts, with good experience. For Tesla S, our versions fit vehicles produced between 2012 and March 2016, front and rear (pre-facelift). For facelift AWD models manufactured from April 2016, we have them at the front in stock.  The rear ones we provide for both AWD and RWD versions. For Tesla X, we supply the front and rear standard types, in year models from 2015 to 2019/20. Modules of front and rear adaptive air suspension 2019-21, we provide both for Tesla S and X.

STANDARD, SMART, PLUS OR ADAPTIVE

Most Tesla cars have air suspension type standard, or smart as it was also labelled. It provids ability to manually adjust the height of the car through the vehicle's control screen. The GPS position of each adjustment is saved automatically by the vehicle, but any deleting must be done manually.

Until april 2015 for Tesla S, some air suspension types on vehicles as P85+ and the P85D+, were named as plus. This mostly referred to stiffer dampers, bushings and larger stabilizer bars, rather than specific air struts. So a standard/smart air suspension can replace a plus one, without any large deterioration in quality (it's higher air pressure, not a different piston, that makes the air strut stiffer). Still, some P85D+ customers, have experienced the Vigor® air struts as a little softer. If for that reason, you want to go for the originals ones from Tesla, you must make an assessment of yourself.

A new type of air stuts came with the adaptive air suspension module, in 2018-19 for the S and X models. The more advanced technology, with suspension dampening and fully automatic height adjustments, gave something qualitatively new. We present for sale the first of these air suspension types in course of the autumn 2023.

You can, in most cases, find out what type or air suspension you have, by going to 'Software' in the on-screen menu, tap on 'More vehicle information' in the middle of the page, and look for 'Air suspension type'.

 

AVOID MISTAKES

It is important that you check the original spare part number. Tesla has used many subcontractors (OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer), such as Bilstein, Continental and Firestone. This means that there are a number of spare part numbers and OEM references that fit our air suspensions. Below you find an overview
