QUALITY CONTROL. All our air struts are pressure tested and thoroughly inspected before shipment. The entrance to the o-rings at the aluminum ring is also sealed with tec7. Similarly - down towards the aluminum ring - extra protective paint is applied (picture 4). This is to prevent sand/brine from forming corrosion and oxidation, which is the cause of most leaks and has been a problem on the original ones.
ADAPTATION. Tesla recommends to replace air struts in pairs (passanger and driver side at the samt time). This is also our recommendation. It is of course entirely possible to change only one side. But in some cases you may get problems with uneven height adjustment. The ECU/Software may also respond unclearly to different types of air struts, although this is often resolved by resetting the level sensors.
PART NUMBER. Always check original spare part number or OEM reference before ordering. The Tesla Parts Catalog main number for Tesla S left side is 1066361-00-E, right side 1066366-00-E. For Tesla X, it is 1027061-00-D left side, 1027066-00-D right side. Fits the variants that came in 2019, often referred to as Raven, with ADS and adaptive suspension type.
WARRANTY. There is a 2-year warranty on Vigor® air struts up to 80,000 km, also if you install them yourself. If you go DIY, however, we assume that you know what you are doing. If you are unsure, please visit a workshop for installation.
