AIR COMPRESSOR TESLA X / S 2015-21

Sold out

ADAPTATION. Air compressor from Vigor® for Tesla X and S 2015-21 models. Part number is 1027911-00-H. Complete with air nipples. But it might be good to have some extras (4mm, 6mm) plus possibly a hose cutter. Tesla's price for the original Wabco compressor is NOK 7,300 including VAT.

WARRANTYThere is a 2-year warranty on our compressors if the points below are followed.

  • Do not replace only the compressor if you have leaks elsewhere in the system. This causes the compressor to run too much (should not go beyond 30s intervals). You risk the engine running hot, and the rotor or ball bearing breaking after a short time.
  • Make sure there is no moisture and dirt in the valve block. This can prevent flow by disrupting electrical signals to the solenoids and changing valve directions. The system is particularly vulnerable when temperatures drop below freezing. The sensor can also fail. Misleading start/stop signals are thus given to the compressor via the ECU/relay. If you are unsure, replace therefore the valve block as well.
  • Replace the air filter/intake hose to the compressor. A saturated filter can allow moisture to seep directly into the compressor, particularly during winter time. Tesla started using this type of air filter on the production line in 2017, as far as we understand. You can purchase the air filter directly from Tesla (part number 1027931-00-B for Tesla X, 1061821-00-B for Tesla S, price approx. 170).
  • Replace the air filter on the intake hose to the compressor. A saturated filter allows moisture to penetrate directly into the compressor, especially when the temperature drops to freezing in the winter and condensation forms. Tesla started using this type of air filter on the production line in the fall of 2016, as far as we understand. You can buy the air filter here or directly  from Tesla including hoses as well (part number 1027931-00-B for Tesla X, price NOK 200. 1061821-00-B for Tesla S, price NOK 300).
  • Finally - when everything is tight and working - you 'refill' the system with nitrogen. This must be done according to the correct procedures (the system should also be 'flushed' to clean out moisture) at a Tesla service center, with toolbox and associated equipment connected. If you do this properly, and follow the points mentioned above, you will avoid problems with moisture in the system for a long time.

For Tesla X, please see this guide for installation. For the S model, Tesla's own service manual is probably the best. If you are unsure where to find the relay or if you have an eFuse, take a look at the last series of pictures under point 7 here.

NOTE. We only ship within Scandinavia for the time being.
